Canberra's top bikie appeared in court yesterday accused of being caught drink-driving twice in one week.
Wayne Gordon Clark, president of the Tuggeranong chapter of the Rebels Motorcycle Club, is accused of two level three drink-drive offences in January.
One of the offences was committed in a car, it is alleged, and one on a motorbike.
Police allege that the Kambah man was caught behind the wheel of a car while drunk on Saturday, January 16, and a week later, on Saturday, January 23 he was caught again, this time riding his motorbike with level three alcohol in his blood.
A level 3 blood alcohol offence is between twice and three times the legal limit for a full licence holder.
The charges are the latest legal headache for the 48-year-old bikie gang leader whose son Michael Clark is facing prosecution accused of running over a former Rebels bikie in a ute, allegedly as payback for defying the club's hierarchy.
Clark's court appearance comes at the busiest time of the year with the club's annual bike and tattoo show scheduled to be held at the weekend, followed closely by the first anniversary of the killing of Rebels bikie Rick Roberts.
Roberts was allegedly gunned down on a Chisholm Street on March 24 last year by local man Russell Field who is awaiting trial on charges of murdering the senior bikie and his associate Gregory Carrigan.
Clark's case was adjourned until next month when he is expected to apply for a special licence.
