Fears for missing Garran woman

07 Apr, 2009 11:40 AM
Police have grave concerns for the wellbeing of a diabetic woman missing since yesterday.

The 46-year-old woman went missing from her Garran home at midday.

The woman is insulin dependent and can fall in a coma if not regularly treated.

An ACT Policing spokesman said it was understood she had gone without insulin since before her disappearance.

Police are trawling Garran and surrounding areas Hughes, Phillip and Mount Taylor.

She is Caucasian, 170cms tall, with a medium build, fair complexion and shoulder length light-brown hair.

She walks with a distinctive limp.

The missing woman was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black and red checked shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone who may have seen the woman should call ACT Policing on 131444 immediately.
