Gel packs recalled

4/09/2008 12:00:00 AM
A range of hot and cold gel packs have been recalled nationally after a child who ate some of the contents became seriously ill.

Testing by the Therapeutic Goods Administration of the Thermoskin brand gel packs revealed they contained ethylene glycol, a toxic substance.

Initial symptoms may include drowsiness, nausea and vomiting.

The recalled packs contain a distinctive blue gel.

Anyone who bought Thermoskin gel packs should stop using them and contact the distributor on 1800 188 019.

All returned items will be refunded in full.
