Three students from Marist College have tested positive for swine flu as the ACT's number of confirmed cases of the illness continues to climb.
ACT Health said yesterday the number of cases in Canberra had reached 153, with at least six new cases of the virus confirmed at the weekend.
Three students at Marist College in Pearce were diagnosed with the illness late last week.
None of the students or staff who had contact with the children had been quarantined or offered Tamiflu.
An ACT Health spokeswoman said the response was in line with the national approach to the World Health Organisation-declared pandemic.
She said the strategy acknowledged ''the disease has been less severe than originally envisaged, with most people making a rapid and full recovery''.
Parents of children in the affected class were sent a letter from ACT Health advising them of the situation. It told parents to keep children at home if they were unwell.
