Two men have been charged with the theft of lobster tails, shrimp and other gourmet food from the Qantas catering facility.
The Australian Federal Police said today they had charged a 46-year-old man from Campsie with larceny and receiving goods and a 28-year-old man from Bexley with stealing property after a raid earlier this month.
The Campsie man is due to face Waverley Local Court later today.
Qantas inesvtigators raised their suspicions with the AFP in late October after the loss of catering supplies which had been delivered to the airline by a local supplier.
In a statement, the AFP said it stopped and searched the Bexley man's truck as it was leaving the catering facility.
They seized 71 lobster tails, 60 kilograms of white shrimp, 30 kilograms of Cadbury chocolate, 30 kilograms of scallops, 20 kilograms of Basmati rice and 10 kilograms of tiger prawns.
Investigators also found eight kilograms of Toblerone - with the entire haul worth an estimated $7000.
The Bexley man will face court on November 29.
