NO MATTER how young Tottie Goldsmith feels, she admits she's now retro.
The resurgence of interest in the 1980s has thrown the former Chantoozies singer back into the spotlight.
Goldsmith is constantly booked for gigs offering an '80s flavour, drawing the Neighbours star back into the music world.
But rather than be bitter about being paraded for lost glories, Goldsmith has embraced the experience and will headline Canberra's New Year's Eve celebrations this week.
Goldsmith joins Paul Grey from Wa Wa Nee and David Sterry from Real Life to form the Idols of the '80s in Civic Square to welcome 2010.
Goldsmith said she couldn't wait to celebrate her first New Year's Eve in Canberra.
''I haven't done any theatre in Canberra but I visited with the Chantoozies many times in the late '80s and early '90s so I'm really looking forward to spending New Year's Eve there,'' the 47-year-old veteran entertainer said.
''I've done quite a bit of work with Paul Grey and David Sterry.
''They're fantastic guys so it's going to be really fun.
''The '80s thing just came back in with a vengeance which has been great fun for me so fans can expect me to be having the best time in the world, and if I'm having a good time they'll be having a good time.''
Civic Square will come alive from 7pm as local acts Bridge Between, Los Chavos and Who's Ya Daddy take to the stage.
The Idols of the '80s will headline the performance before a 9pm fireworks display roars into action.
Canberra-based company Fireworks Australia has promised two of its biggest shows as the national capital celebrates the New Year.
