Hailstones the size of pebbles sprayed parts of Canberra and Queanbeyan yesterday as a spring storm rolled across the city.
Hail pelted Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra about 6pm but the outburst lasted just 15 minutes, carpeting gardens and driveways.
Canberra got 3.6mm of rain and reached a high of 16 degrees with winds of up to 15km/h on the lakes.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency said there were no calls from residents and no reports of damage from the storms and showers.
The Bureau of Meteorology said a trough of low pressure over eastern NSW would continue to generate scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms today.
There could be increased rain and possible snowfalls at the ski slopes, the ACT mountains and NSW Southern Tablelands tomorrow.
