Traders in the Cusack Centre in Kingston fear the future of the building is under a cloud.
But its owner says there is nothing untoward happening and it is business as usual.
Tenants are upset they were offered a three-year lease renewal in January but then last week were asked to remain on one-year agreements, expiring in June next year with no option to extend.
It has led to speculation the centre might be gutted and redeveloped and linked to a possible development across the road in the Eyre Street car park.
