With the second tallest frame in Australian Opals history, Elizabeth Cambage is used to standing out most places she goes.
For as long as she can remember, she has been almost a foot taller than most of her friends.
So her reaction when she found out she would not become the tallest Opals player was understandable.
''What?'' Cambage asked. ''Damn, I thought I was the biggest.''
At 17 years of age and 203cm, Cambage will automatically enter the record books when she makes her Opals debut next week.
The Australian Institute of Sport athlete was shocked when coach Carrie Graf included her in a 12-strong squad to play a three-game series against China from next Friday.
When she takes to the court, she will become the second tallest and second youngest player to put on an Opals jump-suit.
Lauren Jackson, arguably the world's best player, played her first game for the national team when she was 16.
Sue Geh, a former Canberra basketballer, played at the 1984 Olympics and was 205cm tall.
