Caps return is simply the best

It's somehow appropriate that Lauren Jackson's favourite memory of the AIS Arena is a Tina Turner concert.

Because the basketball superstar says rejoining the Canberra Capitals is simply the best decision she's ever made.

The world's best female player will make her much anticipated return to the Arena tonight when the Capitals take on the Dandenong Rangers in the WNBL.

It's a situation Jackson never imagined possible less than a month ago.

But after the ACT Government and Canberra businesses joined forces to table a $220,000 contract for a three-month stint in Australia, Jackson couldn't turn down the chance to return to where her career began.

''For me this is about seeing my family, playing with the Caps again and it's about Canberra,'' Jackson said.

''I love the city and for my body and for my career [playing in Canberra again] is probably the best decision I've ever made.

''I get to stay in Canberra, get fit, get strong and really focus on getting myself right again that's where my heart is at the moment, getting better and just training to be awesome again.
