Canberra Capitals point guard Nat Hurst says she needs to find her attacking groove immediately if she is to help her team record consecutive wins this weekend.
The Capitals' playmaker has failed to fire in the past two games, scoring just six points against the Townsville Fire and 11 against the Australian Institute of Sport.
But with crucial clashes against the Sydney Uni Flames on Friday and the Adelaide Lightning on Sunday, Hurst said she could not afford to have another quiet game.
She still averages almost 15 points a game, but wants more.
''It is a bit frustrating when you're not getting the points you want,'' last season's grand final most valuable player said.
''Teams are marking me different this season, they know what I like to do and I'm finding it pretty hard to get free.
''Sure it's a sign of respect, but it's on me to go back and work on ways to get through the defence.''
Despite thrashing the AIS by 54 points last Sunday, the Capitals are yet to find their WNBL championship-winning form.
They have won two of their opening four games.
Sydney has also won two of its four games, but Adelaide is second on the ladder and undefeated.
Marianna Tolo starred against the institute with 33 points, but Hurst's attacking flair holds the key to Canberra's success.
She exploded as a WNBL starting-five player last season and dominated most oppositions.
However, in her second year as a competition threat she has nailed just four of 13 three-pointers.
Canberra coach Carrie Graf nursed the 26-year-old and skipper Kellie Abrams through the victory over the AIS while Tracey Beatty and Carly Wilson took no part in the game.
Hurst said her reduced workload had her primed for big matches against the Flames and Lightning.
