NEW Zealand Tall Fern Jess McCormack is confident she can become a dynamic WNBL impact player despite having just 11 weeks to leave a lasting impression.
McCormack will suit up for her second game for the Canberra Capitals when they take on the Adelaide Lightning at Southern Cross Stadium today.
The 20-year-old made her WNBL debut in Canberra's rousing two-point victory over the Sydney Uni Flames on Friday night.
But in her first game since last year's Beijing Olympics and ankle surgery in March, she had minimal impact.
''I know it's going to take a few games and training sessions to find my game wind but it was just nice to get back on the court after so long,'' McCormack said.
''This is a great opportunity for me and I jumped at the chance as soon as I got the call.
''Hopefully I can do my bit to help out [Marianna] Tolo and the other girls it's a great way for me to get my basketball back going because I didn't realise how much I missed it.''
