Anthony Petrie is confident he will be fit to make his debut for the Gold Coast Blaze despite an ankle injury threatening to postpone the start of his NBL season.
As the embattled league prepares to relaunch itself tomorrow night, Petrie is in a race against time to be ready for the Blaze's clash with the Townsville Crocodiles on the Gold Coast on Friday.
The former Canberra Gunner rolled his ankle at practice last week and will have a fitness test today to determine whether he is able to take part in the season opener.
Petrie signed with the Blaze in June and was devastated at the prospect of missing the opening rounds of competition.
