Australia will forge ahead with the new video review system for umpires in this summer's Test series against the West Indies and Pakistan despite other nations refusing to implement it.
The International Cricket Council approved the new umpire decision review system under which players can ask on-field umpires to consult a colleague with access to ball-tracking technology in October after a series of trials involving the major cricketing nations.
But India declined to use the system for its home series against Sri Lanka, which began on Monday.
And South Africa has decided against using it in its upcoming series against England, citing the cost as the reason.
Australia will go ahead with the system in its three-Test series against the West Indies and Pakistan. Umpires will be able to refer decisions such as run-outs and stumpings to the third umpire, as they do already.
In addition, either the fielding captain or dismissed batsman will be able to request a review of a decision.
The third umpire will need a ''high degree of confidence'' that a decision is incorrect, otherwise the original decision will stand.
