ACT Meteors captain Kris Britt sent an ominous warning to Women's National Cricket League rivals with a strong all-round performance at the Power Education Challenge on the weekend.
Playing in two Twenty20 fixtures, Britt cracked 39 not out and 47 not out. She also contributed with the ball, taking 2-8 with her right-arm leg breaks.
The tournament featured a number of players from the NSW Breakers and ACT Meteors, with Britt turning more than a few heads with her early-season form.''I was happy with the way it went, being the first game of the season. Lucky for me I made some runs, so it was good,'' Britt said.
''The Meteors have been training for more than 12 weeks now, so a lot of hard work and preparation has gone in. It was nice to actually get out in the middle and play a game.
''Just getting used to getting out in the field again, having a hit and getting a bowl, it was really good to start the season with a Twenty20 game.''
