AUSTRALIA will take that winning feeling into next week's tournament against Pakistan after scoring a 47-run victory in the dead-rubber fifth one-day game against South Africa.
The win in Johannesburg means the Proteas claim a 3-2 victory in the series and take the ODI top ranking on 126 points, while Australia (123) move one point ahead of third-placed India.
The performance is a welcome relief for the Australians ahead of their five-match series against Pakistan which starts in Dubai on April 22.
Openers Brad Haddin (62) and Michael Clarke (66) top-scored in Australia's 7-303.
In reply, South Africa was bowled out for 256 in 45.5 overs.
Mitchell Johnson took 3-58 for Australia and finished the series with 13 wickets at 17.07.
