Haddin opens up over Australian hopes

Haddin opens up over Australian hopes

Australia's opening batsman Brad Haddin says today's one-day international against South Africa is going to be a ''cracker''.

He's just not sure which Australian side will turn up.

There's the team which won by 141 runs in the opening match of the five-game series in Durban on April 3, or the side that was bowled out for 131 and lost by seven wickets to South Africa at Centurion two days later.

Skipper Ricky Ponting has placed the responsibility for guiding the tourists to a good total firmly in the hands of himself at No3 and openers Haddin and Michael Clarke.

All three failed to reach double figures at Centurion.

''It's very important in one-day cricket to really get a good start. Especially over here, if you can do all the platform leading into the last overs, you can tend to catch up on the scoreboard at the back end of the game here,'' Haddin said.

''So it's pretty important that the top three or four take the responsibility upon themselves.

''We were hurt the other day so it's up to us this game to take a bit of responsibility ourselves and fix the problems,'' Haddin, who scored 53 in Durban, said.

''In a five-game series you have no choice. You just have to move on.''
