Fans have a rare opportunity to see Canberra's three national women's sporting teams on home turf this weekend.
For the only time over the 2009-10 season cricket team ACT Meteors, soccer team Canberra United and basketballers Canberra Capitals all host home games.
The action is spaced over three days, with the Meteors hosting Tasmania for their opening match of the women's Twenty20 competition tomorrow.
On Saturday evening, Canberra United hosts Melbourne Victory at McKellar Park.
While on Sunday afternoon, the Capitals meet Adelaide at Southern Cross Stadium, Tuggeranong.
Entry to the Meteors match is free, while the Capitals and United have joined forces to entice fans to both of their matches.
Fans holding a valid ticket to either the Capitals or United match gain entry to the other match free.
Capitals guard Carly Wilson urged the Canberra community to make the most of the opportunity to watch some of Australia's top sporting women on their doorstep.
''It's not just like we've got three women's teams in any competition, this is national league we're talking about,'' Wilson said.
''I think it's hugely beneficial [for the women's teams to join forces], especially for us to support each other as well. They're all fantastic teams and it will just be a really good exhibition of women's sport.''
Meteors all-rounder Em Preston said the newly formed side was raring to show the territory what it could do.
Like the Capitals and United, Preston believed strong on-field results would attract supporters to the Meteors' cause.
''Men's cricket is so much more advanced than we are but we're getting there,'' Preston said.
''It will be interesting to see how many people we can get out to support us but first and foremost it's about getting out there, having a good game and knocking over Tassie.
''The win is what we're looking for and that's what our training has been working towards.
''It's free entry so come along, it will be a fantastic afternoon.''
United, last year's W-League runner-up, will hope the home ground advantage will spur it to its first win this season.
Canberra goalkeeper Lydia Williams summed up the importance of a strong home crowd behind the capital's national league sporting teams.
''The crowd is our 12th man on the field so the more support we get the better,'' Williams said.
