He hasn't faced a ball in the ACT Cricket competition but North Canberra-Gungahlin opening batsman Sam Miller is already the player to watch.
The 21-year-old recently moved to Canberra from Ballarat to play with the ACT Comets in the Cricket Australia Futures League and has already displayed ominous form.
Miller, a former Victoria country representative, put the competition on notice when he scored a ton in the ACT Comets' loss to Queensland in Brisbane a fortnight ago.
He continued his run by scoring 90 against Western District-University of Canberra in a rain-affected practice match.
The talented opening batsman is also a handy right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Despite the impressive start to the year, Miller played down his form.
''I'm liking the way I've started but it's still early in the season so everyone isn't hitting full potential yet,'' Miller said.
