Weston Creek will rely heavily on youth as it defends both of its ACT cricket titles, starting this weekend.
The defending champion of both the one-day and two-day competitions has been labelled the team to beat despite the loss of a number of senior players.
Weston Creek has waved goodbye to the services of seasoned campaigners Matt Nason (retired), Sean Maxwell (retired), Ashton May (St George) and Brett Davies (work), but only signed Sam Coates (Victoria) as a replacement.
The majority of new talent will move up from the Weston Creek second grade side which won the premiership last season.
Weston Creek skipper Cade Brown said up-and-coming batsman Tom Rogers and spinner Michael Minns would play a major role.
Rogers, fresh from a tour of India with the Australia under-16s schoolboys team, will make his first-grade debut against Eastlake this weekend.
''We've got a bit of a shift in focus into putting more into developing future first-class players,'' Brown said. ''With all these young players coming in it's pretty exciting for us older blokes.''
