The Western Bulldogs have given Lindsay Gilbee and Shaun Higgins extra time to prove their fitness ahead of today's round 10 clash against the Sydney Swans at Manuka Oval.
Gilbee (ankle) and Higgins (groin) sustained injuries in last week's two-point loss to Geelong and didn't take part in early-week training sessions.
But coach Rodney Eade brought both to the ACT yesterday and said they would have their final assessment this morning.
One of the pair will play as the Western Bulldogs only travelled with one emergency, Jarrod Harbow.
''It looks like Lindsay and Shaun will be able to play, they'll have a bit of a jog around today and we will see how they are tomorrow,'' Eade said yesterday.
Eade also cast slight doubt on the return of Ryan Hargrave who was a surprise inclusion on Thursday night after also missing training earlier in the week.
The coach said if Hargrave did return it would be a huge boost to the Western Bulldogs.
''It was a bit unexpected, he hadn't trained all week but then got the all-clear on Wednesday and trained yesterday, he's another one we will have to assess [today] but he's a real plus if he's right,'' Eade said.
''I think he's an underrated player in the competition and I think he helps our structure.''
