CANBERRA United has bounced back into W-League finals contention with a 4-0 thumping of Perth Glory at McKellar Park yesterday.
United finally claimed its second win this season in emphatic style after seven weeks of creating dozens of chances but not converting them.
Goals from Ashleigh Sykes, Ellie Brush, Ellie Raymond and a Perth own goal also put the 4-0 scoreline into United's record books as the team's biggest W-League win.
But most importantly the win moved Canberra up into fifth place, just three points behind the Melbourne Victory in fourth.
Canberra is now in a great position to push into fourth with three rounds to go, when it plays Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide. United coach Ray Junna said his team deserved to be among the top teams after yesterday's performance .
''We've played every top-four team so far and we're not afraid of anyone,'' he said. ''We've matched everyone, it's just on the day we haven't won the game.
