THE Australian Masters hype has all been about Tiger Woods, but Greg Chalmers has no qualms about ruining the party and stitching up the gold jacket today.
Chalmers and James Nitties led the surge at Kingston Heath yesterday, drawing level with Woods at 10-under after the world's best golfer fell off the pace.
Woods was on par in a forgettable day which he admitted included some ''atrocious'' golf shots, squandering a three-shot lead.
Woods was again the focus of the 24,532-strong crowd, but it was his playing partner and compatriot Jason Dufner who provided the birdies for the crowd early, though produced late bogeys to finish at eight-under after a one-under par round .
The pairing of Nitties and Chalmers, who tee off together again today, provided the surge as Woods was wayward.
Chalmers said he understood that crowds were hoping for a Woods win, but he would not mind spoiling their expectations.
''I'm very prepared for that, yes, doesn't bother me in the slightest,'' he said.
