IT MAY be a little premature to definitively declare Adam Scott is back, but he sure looked like it during his first 29 holes at the US Open.
Scott declared pre-championship that he had rectified the swing fault that had caused him to miss seven cuts in his previous eight starts, but his critics were sceptical of whether he was all talk.
But the Queenslander backed up his words with an accomplished one-under-par 69 in the opening round at soggy Bethpage yesterday and then picked up another stroke during the 11 holes of the second round that he completed before fading light halted play for the day.
He ended a long day equal sixth, only four strokes behind American leader Lucas Glover, who completed 13 holes.
Nobody completed the second round and half the field did not even start it, a result of Friday's torrential rain that restricted competition to barely three hours on the course.
