The Caulfield Cup, the Cox Plate and the Melbourne Cup all coming to Canberra.
It sounds more fairytale-like than realistic but in 10 weeks time, all three trophies could have a Canberra link.
Melbourne's festival of racing is fast approaching and the capital region will be well represented.
In years gone by the likes of Takeover Target, Lachlan River, Ain't Seen Nothin', Into The Night and Zenarta have enjoyed success during the Melbourne Spring Carnival.
But this year, the three big ones could be headed for Canberra.
Predatory Pricer, the $7.50 Caulfield Cup favourite and $11 second-favourite for the Cox Plate, is part-owned by Canberra couple Ron and Alana Foster.
Vigor, the $15 equal-second favourite for the Caulfield Cup and $21 equal-fourth Melbourne Cup favourite, is part-owned by Canberra's Jason Mathie's Titan Thoroughbreds.
And Cox Plate equal-fourth favourite Black Piranha is part-owned by ACTTAB chairman Con Kourpanidis.
Throw in the Danny Williams' pair Cape Breton and Straight Edge and Bernie Howlett's Macknuckle all of which are in contention for a Melbourne Cup berth and local representation has never been stronger.
Of the major contenders, Vigor and Predatory Pricer have already hinted they are set for major carnivals.
Predatory Pricer stamped himself as the horse to beat in the big staying races by beating Cox Plate favourite Whobegotyou in the Group2 Liston Stakes at Caulfield last weekend.
