Leading jockey Glen Boss will join forces with the Lee Freedman stable at Albury on Friday in the middle of what he admits will be one of the most demanding 24 hours of his riding career.
Boss will travel between Melbourne to Sydney and back with a stop in Albury in between to meet riding commitments.
He will fly from Melbourne to Sydney tomorrow night after riding at Ballarat to ride Group1 winner Alamosa for trainer Mick Price in a barrier trial at Randwick at 8.30am on Friday.
Boss is making the effort to ride in the trial as he is booked to ride Alamosa in the Group1 George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday week.
He will then fly to Albury for the ride on the Barbara Marshman-trained Bolle in the $125,000 Albury Gold Cup on Friday afternoon.
He also has taken two rides at the Albury Cup meeting for Lee Freedman including Braided General in the $30,000 Flat Knacker, a new sprint race over 900m.
Less than hour after riding in the Albury Cup, Boss will be on a flight to Melbourne to ride last-start winner Red Riviera in the $100,000 Night Racing Stayers Championship Final over 3000m at the Moonee Valley meeting that night.
On Saturday he will have a strong book of rides at Caulfield, including Skiddaw Peak in the Listed Anniversary Vase at Caulfield.
''It's the life of a top jockey,'' said Brendan Cormick, Boss's booking agent.
''The flight schedules fit so there is no reason why Glen can't get to Albury for the Cup meeting after the trial at Randwick and he can still be back in Melbourne in time for the night meeting at Moonee Valley.
''Glen's work ethic cannot be questioned.''
