CANBERRA jockey Taylor Lovelock-Wiggins has the racing world at his feet.
At 16 and in his first year as an apprentice, Lovelock-Wiggins has already amassed career statistics that would make older jockeys proud.
The teenage hoop should claim the Canberra Jockey Apprentice's Premiership and is a chance to snatch the Jockey's Premiership (senior) at Thoroughbred Park today.
Going into the seven-race card, Lovelock-Wiggins has recorded 12 wins and 18 placings from 82 starts averaging a win every 6.8 runs and a place every 2.7 runs.
He sits one win behind Richard Bensley, who has 13 wins and placings from 87 starts.
Lovelock-Wiggins is booked for six rides, while Bensley has four.
''It'd be good if I could pull it off but things happen for a reason and good luck to whoever gets it,'' Lovelock-Wiggins said. ''It's good to be that close to one of the leading jockeys around here.
