At first glance, it was nothing out of the ordinary.
But delve a little deeper and the victory of Medadwonaslipper at Queanbeyan last month was the culmination of more than 10years' hard work.
The son of Golden Slipper-winning horse Catbird, trained by the son of Golden Slipper-winning trainer Frank Cleary, Medadwonaslipper proved too good for his company.
The horse, named for two figures synonymous with racing in the Canberra region, is a tribute to Catbird and Cleary's Golden Slipper win in 1999.
Now trained by Joe Cleary, he said it was a nice way to remember both fathers' achievements.
''To think it's been 10 years, it's just gone so fast,'' he said.
''We've had our ups and downs and we're slowly rebuilding now since Dad came home you just keep your fingers crossed another one comes along.''
