Boys, bikes and big bucks

They are the two highest paid sportsmen ever likely to set foot in Canberra Stadium.

One is a seven-time world champion who is credited with turning his sport into a multimillion dollar spectacle.

The other is one of Australian sport's highest earners, behind only Greg Norman and Harry Kewell, trying to do the same in raising the sport's profile in his home country.

However both of them could walk past most Canberrans today without anyone raising an eyebrow.

Meet Chad Reed and Jeremy McGrath, two of the stars of tonight's round of the Australasian Supercross Championship at Canberra Stadium.

McGrath ruled the American supercross scene in the 1990s, dominating the sport from coast to coast.

He was the first rider to earn more than $US10million, has his own video games, and is credited with making supercross the entertainment drawcard it is today.
