Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy described last night's 23-16 NRL grand final win over the Parramatta Eels as the greatest moment of his coaching career.
Bellamy's second premiership at the Storm he also led the side to the 2007 title wasn't secured until a Greg Inglis drop goal with two minutes remaining gave his side an unassailable seven-point lead.
The coach's elation was evident when the final siren sounded at Sydney's ANZ Stadium last night.
The former Canberra Raiders player admitted after the match he felt more trepidation prior to the contest than he had before most big games.
The NSW State of Origin coach conceded he was worried about his younger players potentially having a brain snap, fearing it could cost his club a premiership.
He needn't have worried as the Storm held off a fast-finishing Parramatta side to secure its second NRL title in three years and its third of the past 11.
''This is the best feeling I've ever had as a coach,'' Bellamy said.
''For me, this is the sweetest. The inexperience in our team, I thought a few of those guys could get stage struck.
''In 2007 we had a wonderful side. This is a wonderful side too but it lacked the big-game experience of the '07 guys.
''I was worried some of our blokes might get overawed, a feeling it might all get to be too much for them, but they were outstanding and I'm so proud of each and every one of them.''
