Tom Learoyd-Lahrs's chances of being selected in Australia's Four Nations squad have nosedived, after the Canberra Raiders forward suffered a hamstring injury at training yesterday.
Learoyd-Lahrs will miss Sunday's clash with the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland, after suffering a grade one tear in his right hamstring.
The injury came just five days after the NSW State of Origin enforcer had returned from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for three games.
While he hoped to be fit for the Raiders' final two games of the season, Learoyd-Lahrs conceded his chances of playing for Australia in Europe are all but over.
He said the fact he had played just one full game since making his Origin debut last month was unlikely to win over the Kangaroos selectors.
''If I'd kept playing good footy after Origin I thought maybe I'd be a chance [of Australian selection],'' Learoyd-Lahrs said.
''But having missed three games and then only come back for one and now missing at least one game again, my chances have dwindled.
''It is disappointing because I'd like to think it was a possibility, especially with a few other blokes like Ben Hannant and Petero [Civoniceva] probably being unavailable.''
