Campese keen to renew old-school halves partnership

21 Apr, 2009 07:55 AM
Canberra five-eighth Terry Campese has backed incoming halfback Josh McCrone to make an impact for the Raiders.

The support comes after coach David Furner indicated he would today name McCrone at halfback in place of the injured Marc Herbert for the Raiders clash with the Canterbury Bulldogs at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

Campese has previously played reserve grade with the 22-year-old and said he was looking forward to renewing their halves combination.

I would like to make two points: 1) Firstly, I think McCrone will make a good fist of things in the top grade. In fact if I am wrong, let all the freckles fall off my arms. 2) Secondly, please re-sign Brett Kelly and then we can start looking at Campese.

Interesting to see how McCrone performs - with some decent performances he'll wrestle the starting spot from the Herb, who has been out of sorts. Plus, Adam Broome has it right.....ALL HAIL BK - ha ha ha!

adam why would we not sign campo 1st surly he is our main target plus i agree with sham if they dont sign him sack the ceo himself cause no one will want to surport a team who doesnt surport their players and surporters

be real good if the club could let us real mad keen surporters know how they are going with signing campo plus why is it taken so long he said he wants to stay or are they going to do what they did last year and muck around like they did with carney

All I am saying is that Brett Kelly is a game winner. The guy can smell the try line from a mile away.

Adam, your a goose if brett kelly keeps playing the raiders are gone!

adam brett kelly has not shown much attack. what he has shown is that he has absolutely no idea how to defend. the bloke does not belong in first grade.
