CANBERRA Raiders five-eighth Terry Campese is confident speculation about his playing future won't affect his on-field form, as he continues his push for NSW State of Origin selection.
Campese's manager Jim Banaghan met Raiders chief executive Don Furner yesterday to continue negotiations for a potential three-year contract extension.
Penrith has also declared interest in Campese, who is contracted to the Raiders until the end of next season.
While he didn't want to speculate on contract negotiations, Campese gave an indication his preferred option was to remain with the Raiders, when he told The Sunday Canberra Times ''hopefully [Furner and Banaghan] can sit down and work it out soon''.
Campese has been one of the form playmakers in the competition since midway through last season, prompting his earning potential to skyrocket.
He signed a two-year contract with the Raiders last season. The club has tabled him an upgraded and extended contract deal that would see him remain at the club until 2012.
