He's 80 minutes from becoming the first halfback since Peter Sterling to lead Parramatta to an NRL premiership, but just don't try to compare Jeff Robson to the former Test No7.
''It's great honour to be wearing the No7 jumper at Parramatta, but I don't feel any pressure as such,'' Robson said ahead of Sunday's grand final match-up with Melbourne.
''Because to live up to his standard, I wouldn't be able to do it.
''If I could be half the player he was I'd be happy I'm just happy to be running around with the boys and enjoying my footy.''
At 27, Robson is only just starting to make his mark in the top grade, having struggled away in the lower grades at Manly and then the Eels.
Ironically, it was only after the departure of Brett Finch the man he will go up against on Sunday and a broken jaw to Kris Keating, that Robson was given a shot.
But being third string doesn't really bother Robson, who is still uncontracted for next season, especially now that he will get the opportunity to add a grand final appearance to his fledgling resume.
''I'm just very grateful for the opportunity to play back-to-back games and also to be playing the grand final,'' he said.
''I think it took me a good four or five weeks to get really confident and used to the speed of the game. Once I did that I felt more a part of the team and started to enjoy my footy a bit more.''
And as for going up against Finch, who will line up at five-eighth for the Storm.
''He left in his own circumstances and he's made his way to the grand final as well and good luck to him he's done really well for himself.'' AAP
