A pact to forgo a haircut has yielded unexpected benefits for three West Belconnen players this season.
Warriors winger Kalon Barnes, lock Adrian Grayson and back-rower Brett Frawley agreed in April to avoid the shears in readiness for an AC/DC concert next year.
The trio have stayed true to the agreement for months, much to the displeasure of teammates and opposition sides.
Since the pact was made, the Warriors have breezed through the Canberra Raiders Cup matches with only two losses snaring the minor premiership along the way.
Barnes, Grayson and Frawley have been crucial to the side's success and hope to win the premiership when the Warriors play the Goulburn Bulldogs at Seiffert Oval tomorrow.
Grayson, known as ''Mini'', leads the side's tackle count each week, averaging about 40 tackles per game despite his small stature.
Barnes has been in scintillating form on the wing, scoring an intercept try to bury the Goulburn Bulldogs in the major semi-final a fortnight ago.
A heavily bearded Frawley has switched between the centre and back-row throughout the season, his hard running on the edges creating space for point-scoring machines Liam Taylor and Dean Norbiato.
''[Grayson] just said we should grow our hair for AC/DC so we look the part,'' Barnes said.
''We started around Anzac Day so it's been five months.
''It's not looking too good at the moment, it's getting big. I'd like to cut it actually [because] it just looks so bad, but I can't, I'm committed.''
