Canberra Raiders coach David Furner concedes he needs to make changes to his team after the Penrith Panthers ended its charge to the top eight last Saturday night.
Furner will seek a ''please explain'' from referees boss Robert Finch for the controversial decisions that left the Raiders' season hanging by a thread.
The Panthers beat the Raiders 27-14 and while Furner was still seething with the poor decisions yesterday, he admitted his team's performance was not up to standard. Furner refused to declare the Raiders' finals aspirations over despite them virtually needing to win all remaining seven games to figure in the play-offs.
While he found some positives from the sub-par performance, he said the Raiders needed an immediate improvement in form against the Wests Tigers at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
''We're not talking about ifs, buts or mathematical possibilities [for our season] just yet,'' Furner said.
''Our attention is on the Tigers and we've just got to turn it around and there may be a few changes this week. I want us to be gritty, I want us to be tough for the remainder of the season and I want results.
''If that means I'll have to look at the make-up of the team or changes then I'll do that, I haven't been afraid to do that.
