Monaghan shrugs off virus

26 Jul, 2009 11:49 AM
IT WILL take more than a chest infection to keep Raiders centre Joel Monaghan out of today's clash with the Wests Tigers at Canberra Stadium.

Particularly when he still believes his team can qualify for the NRL finals.

Monaghan and teammates Terry Campese, Josh Dugan and Joel Thompson returned to training yesterday, having sufficiently recovered from a virus to have a run around.

All four will line up against the Tigers today, despite Monaghan admitting he was still feeling the affects of the virus.

''There's a few blokes that have been sick, but that's not going to stop us from playing,'' Monaghan said.

''I'm not feeling 100 per cent, it was a chest infection and a fever.

''But it's a must-win game for us so it would have been hard for anyone to miss it.
