Raiders 'embarrassed' by Storm

19 May, 2009 12:19 PM
Canberra Raiders centre Joel Monaghan admitted his team's season was slipping away after just 10 rounds, following last night's ''embarrassing'' loss to the Melbourne Storm at Olympic Park.

Storm fullback Billy Slater produced a scintillating display of broken-play running, scoring two tries and having a hand in a further three to lead his team to a record 46-6 win over the Raiders.

It was the Storm's biggest win over the Raiders, stretching its winning run over Canberra to 14 consecutive games.

The Storm simply blew the Raiders off the park in the second half, running in five unanswered tries after taking an 18-6 lead into the break.
