An early test of their roadworthiness and some late season appointments with this year's heavy hitters could decide the Canberra Raiders' fate in 2010.
The NRL released next year's draw yesterday and for Canberra it scheduled five trips away from home in the first eight weeks.
That could be a big concern given the Raiders' awful away record this year. The Raiders won just two of 12 away games, against Cronulla and Souths, making their giant-killing feats at home ultimately futile.
The Raiders start 2010 in Penrith against the Panthers, then face the Broncos at Canberra Stadium.
