BRONCOS powerhouse Sam Thaiday said the Raiders should have no expectations of repeating their shock thrashing of the finals-bound Brisbane side tonight.
Thaiday was missing from the Broncos side humiliated 56-0 by the Raiders at Canberra Stadium in round 21 of the NRL, but said the team's worst ever loss had led to some serious soul searching.
''It was a bit of a slap in the face, something we didn't expect,'' Thaiday said yesterday. ''It was a massive wake-up call for the players and coaching staff.
''We've come a long way since that loss and we've started to play some good footy.''
At the time, the Broncos had lost seven of their eight mid-season matches and looked unlikely to make the top eight. Instead the 56-point thrashing spurred the Broncos to four straight victories and a finals berth.
Thaiday said halting the dangerous Raiders attack would be the perfect start towards a premiership bid.
''It's going to be a good tough hit-out for us coming into the finals,'' Thaiday said.
