Shillo in picture to battle Warriors

18 Aug, 2009 10:34 AM
Queensland State of Origin representative David Shillington has vowed to help the Canberra Raiders continue their aggressive end-of-season form should he return to the NRL on Sunday.

Having to sit in the stands as his teammates out-muscled and over-powered the premiership favourites last weekend was punishment for the hardworking prop.

For Shillington, watching three all-in brawls, three players sin-binned and Michael Weyman get knocked out was like waving a red flag in front of a raging bull.

Now he is determined to follow up the Raiders' 24-12 victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons and make up for his month-long absence.

Shillington is set to return to the field against the New Zealand Warriors after a pectoral tear sidelined the 26-year-old for the last five games.

''I'm really confident I'll be right to go, but you can't come back in and be lagging behind everyone else's intensity,'' Shillington said.

Great win for the boys, now lets see if we can back it up with another win against a less than impressive Warriors outfit. We should flog 'em, but who knowns which Raiders team will turn up?

Thats right in big games the Raiders play very well, but against teams who like them inconsistent, who knows who will win. Come on Raiders!

A what point do you say a team is consistent? Refereeing decisions have robbed the Raiders from a top 8 spot not the team's 'inconsistency'!

You cannot put it all on refeering decisions.. It has to at some point come down to the way they keep their chin up after a dud call and get more points on the board.. Its the dropping of the head in most games and the inability to fire in the second half that allows the team to be labeled inconsistent.. I believe we had a dud call on sat nite when Loges touched down.. however we never let it defeat us like other games!
