He played a pivotal role in his team's record 56-point drubbing of the Brisbane Broncos last week.
But Canberra Raiders five-eighth Terry Campese refuses to declare himself to be back in top form until he can display that kind of performance on a regular basis.
Campese has set himself to continue his hot form against the second-placed Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night, after helping mastermind his team's 10-try performance last week.
In a performance that rekindled memories of his stunning finish to last season, Campese's ball running, kicking and passing were all top class against the hapless Broncos.
It was the type of display that earned him a spot in Australia's World Cup squad last year and one game for NSW in this year's State of Origin series.
But after below-par efforts in the preceding three games, which the Raiders lost to bow out of finals contention, Campese said he and his team needed to perform on a more consistent basis.
''I think you have to play a few consistent games to be back in form, so that's what my focus is on,'' Campese said.
''I've got to build on my performance from the weekend and keep improving.
''We've won a few good games this season.
''Not going back too far we beat the Titans and Melbourne and then couldn't back it up in the next few weeks.
''So that's a big focus this week, to go away and try to back up our good performance on the weekend.''
