Another virus has swept through the Canberra Raiders camp, seriously hindering their preparations for Sunday's clash with Wests Tigers at Canberra Stadium.
Coach David Furner was forced to cancel his team's main ballwork session of the week yesterday, after several key players were grounded by the virus.
Five-eighth Terry Campese, centre Joel Monaghan, fullback Josh Dugan and utility Joel Thompson were the worst affected, with all four unable to train at all.
The rest of the squad trained indoors at the Australian Institute of Sport rather than participate in the scheduled opposed session with the under-20s.
Furner admitted the virus had hindered his team's preparations ahead of a game it is desperate to win to snap a two-week losing streak.
''I'm not too sure what sort of virus it is, but it's been floating around the players and we've got to be careful about it,'' Furner said.
''Anyone who has fevers or anything like that we've pretty much sent them home.
''There's about four or five that are down at the moment and there's a few sniffles going around and it's disrupted our training.
''But we've got guys that are going to fill their spots [in training].
''I think it's just something you've got to rest and your body has got to fight it off.''
