At about 8.40pm tomorrow night the Canberra Raiders will make their way off Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium having played their final NRL game of the season.
It will draw to a close another failed campaign; one that realistically finished more than a month ago when it became impossible for them to qualify for the finals.
But while 2009 will go down as another unsuccessful year results-wise for the Raiders, it could also go down as the start of one of the most exciting periods in the club's history.
The year when a new generation of Raiders superstars was unveiled. The season when Josh Dugan, Jarrod Croker, Daniel Vidot and Travis Waddell hit the scene.
The emergence of these four players, along with the ongoing development of several of Canberra's other promising juniors, has Raiders fans, coaching staff and ex-players genuinely excited about the club's future.
