Afeaki out to prove he's not just along for the ride

14 May, 2009 07:52 AM
Sanualio Afeaki thought he was ''just coming along for the trip'' when ACT Brumbies coach Andy Friend told him to pack his bags for Hamilton earlier this week.

He yesterday realised he was to be much more than just a passenger.

Afeaki, who is on an Academy contract at the Brumbies, is set to play his first Super 14 match of the season tomorrow night against the Waikato Chiefs in New Zealand.

Friend named Afeaki on the bench for the match where a bonus-point win plus ensuring the Chiefs take no points from the encounter would guarantee the Brumbies a finals berth.
