 Backline gets new look

Backline gets new look

01 May, 2009 08:16 AM
After last weekend's record hammering in Wellington, change is probably a very good thing for the ACT Brumbies as they prepare to face the Queensland Reds tomorrow night.

Coach Andy Friend named a backline yesterday in which every position bar one was filled by a different player to last round.

The return from injury of fullback Mark Gerrard and inside centre Gene Fairbanks has allowed Friend to almost completely reshuffle his attack. Only flyhalf Matt Toomua, who debuted in the position last weekend, has stayed put.

As expected, Tyrone Smith has shifted to outside centre, Stirling Mortlock to the wing and Adam Ashley-Cooper has been moved back to the wing from fullback.
