Rocky Elsom will play for the ACT Brumbies for the next two seasons after confirming a deal with the club and the Australian Rugby Union today.
The former New South Wales back rower has spent the past nine months playing for Irish club, Leinster, in European club competitions.
He played 21 matches for the Dublin-based side, including a man-of-the-match performance in their 19-16 Heineken Cup final win over Leicester at Murrayfield last week.
Elsom was tipped to rejoin the Waratahs or Queensland until his surprise approach to the Brumbies last week.
He said he believed the ACT could challenge for a Super 14 title next season.
"I'm very happy to be joining the Brumbies in 2010 and I look forward to mounting a challenge for the Super 14 title", he said.
Elsom will now be in line to return to the Test arena against Italy at Canberra Stadium on June 13.
