Ma'afu the biggest bolter in new-look Wallabies squad

29 Sep, 2009 10:51 AM
ACT Brumbies prop Salesi Ma'afu hopes a decision to reject offers to play for Tonga and Fiji at the 2007 Rugby World Cup will soon pay the ultimate dividend.

Ma'afu was one of 10 Brumbies named yesterday in a 43-man Wallabies train-on squad for next month's fourth Bledisloe Cup match and November's spring tour.

Ma'afu, Stephen Hoiles and Mitchell Chapman are the new Brumbies additions to the squad joining Stirling Mortlock, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Stephen Moore, George Smith, Rocky Elsom, Mark Chisholm and Ben Alexander.

Due to his Islander heritage, the 26-year-old qualifies to play for either Tonga or Fiji.
