Mortlock to play on the wing, Toomua at flyhalf for Reds clash

29 Apr, 2009 08:08 AM
Stirling Mortlock's days as an outside centre are far from over despite again being pushed to the wing this weekend, ACT Brumbies coach Andy Friend says.

Friend conceded yesterday Mortlock, the Wallabies captain, ''hasn't found his form'' this season but backed him to bounce back against the Queensland Reds on Saturday night.

Friend will name Mortlock on the wing for the clash at Suncorp Stadium, preferring Gene Fairbanks (12) and Tyrone Smith (13) as the Brumbies' centre pairing.

Matt Toomua will play flyhalf.
