Nervous times for Brumbies mentor

23 Apr, 2009 08:07 AM
ACT Brumbies coach Andy Friend could be forced to select three scrumhalves in his match day squad as injury further threatens his team's Super 14 finals hopes.

Gene Fairbanks, the player marked to replace the injured Christian Lealiifano at flyhalf, is battling a groin injury and is in doubt for Saturday's match against the Wellington Hurricanes.

Friend will name his team this morning, but will first need to see how Fairbanks has responded to treatment after suffering a strain at training on Tuesday afternoon.
